School's Out ! Summer Starts !

I've contemplated ignoring Summer of 2015 and just jumping back into my blog this fall, but I just can't do it! I will do a better job catching up. But mostly just captioning my photos!

So, rewind to May! At the end of May/beginning of June, we wrapped up the school year (Calla ended first grade the first Thursday in June) and started summer! Yay!

below: We got to babysit Sutton one Wednesday in May! It was so much fun.

below: celebrating Aunt Alicia's 30th birthday. I got a pic of Jonathan and his bros/bro-in-law. It was an adults-only party and Parker did terrible for the babysitter (I do recall that! ha!)

below: Stefani said Parker was so upset at bedtime (and most of the evening! - he didn't let her touch him! Only Calla or Kelsey were allowed to hold him). She ended up putting him in bed with Jay, where he fell asleep! HA! This had never happened before and hasn't happened since:

below: For Memorial Day, we had a rainy icky day (no pool!) but we did get to cheer Calla on in the Memorial Day parade! The Girl Scouts walked :-)

 below: can you spot her?

below: I took Kelsey, Jay, Ben and Molly with me to the end-of-the-year chapel. We didn't last past the singing.

below: I can't remember why I took this pic, except my friend Kris gave me these cute glasses from Target and doesn't everything look so much cuter in a glass bottle with a striped straw?
below: We brought the pink car indoors and it provided the boys with hours of entertainment.

below: Parker was now full-time walking
below: Parker falls in love with the pink car. I vividly remember Jay loving this!

below: Parker can walk, but his siblings prefer to help him. This is Jay and Kelsey escorting him into the sports center.

below: Parker, Jay and Kelsey and I were noisy observers of the Awards Assembly at the end of the year. The "Hollywood" sign in the corner is because the junior high had their "Gala" the night before.

below: a blurry picture of Calla receiving an award for "Book-It" (reading a certain amount of hours each month of the year)

below: At the end of May, the girls' best friend Annie had a birthday and celebrated with a petting zoo in her front yard. Best bday party ever
below: The dessert was the ice cream truck! My girls now know that the singing truck sells ice cream. I don't think they ever knew that before. hahaha
below: The birthday girl, Annie (on the right)
below: The Saturday after Memorial Day, we had our first hot day and we headed right to Rice Pool!

below: i took approximately 3,402 pics of the kids enjoying the sand. Parker LOVED it.

below: One of the first "Antique Car Nights" in downtown Wheaton. The antique car nights are every Friday night.

below: heading into Sunday school! Parker dropped Jay off. hahaha

below: cuddley bug. One of many afternoons Parker was plucked out of his crib to pick up Calla from school. We leave our house at 3:10pm to get her by 3:25. She was always the first one out of the door during first grade.
below: Kelsey and my favorite thing to do while the boys napped and Calla was at school - baked!
 well, baking...and taste-testing....
below: our last Tuesday morning hosting Ben and Molly! This schoolyear we are trying to have Ben and Molly in the afternoons since Kelsey has school in the mornings. boo
below: Parker's favorite spot o play (his brother's bed)

LAST DAY OF FIRST GRADE! :-)
Calla and her best bud, Annie:
below: Calla's first grade teacher, Mrs. Dominguez. She absolutely loved her and she was the perfect teacher for Calla!

We literally went straight from the last day of school to my friend Kris' mom's house to swim! Perfect start to the summer!

below: Summertime!

below: Calla, Molly, Kelsey and Annie.

The week after Calla ended school, Kelsey Mae had her last speech class with her beloved Miss Julie! Julie was Kelsey's speech teacher for two years and she loved her! Julie was so fun; I'll miss her too!

- more tomorrow! -
